JENSEN NAMES WATSON’S AIDS Aunty Chairmen in Fifth District Selected. Bu Timet Special % TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Jan. 18.— County chairmen in the Fifth Congressional District for Senator James E. Watson’s senatorial campaign were announced today by John Jensen, district chairman. They are: Clay County, D. W. James and Mrs. Ruth Atcheson, Brazil; Hendricks, Charles S. Shields, Clayton, and Mrs. Cora Vestal, Plainfield; Park, George K. Lloyd, Rockville, and Mr3. Orville H. Ensle. Bloomingdale; Putnam, Aaron Cooper, Pilmore, and Mrs. Hazel Rambo, Greencastle; Vermillion, Everett A. Davidson, Clinton, and Mrs. Dora Stephens, Newport, and Vigo, Jensen and Mrs. Emma Herber of Terre Haute. Mrs. Mark Nebeker of Clinton is women’s chairman of the district.

Saulter, and Lemuel H. Trotter. Officers will be elected Feb. 12. Arthur E. Bradshaw is president. FIREMEN ARE THANKED Woodruff Place Baptists Send Letter of Appreciation. Appreciation of the efforts of firemen under Assistant Fire Chief Roy Phillips, who saved the Woodruff Place Baptist Church from destruction, Jan. 7, was expressed in a letter received by Fire Chief Jesse A. Hirtsell. “We wish to extend to you and the members of the fire department who worked with you our sincere appreciation of the noble efforts you put forth to save our church building from destruction,” the letter ► ead. “We realize you were handicapped in more ways than one, but we want you to know that we are very appreciative of your service.” The letter was signed by E. H. Burton, clerk. ROAD SCHOOL OPENS Governor Will Give Address at I>afayette Thursday Evening. Governor Jackson will be the principal speaker Thursday evening at the twelfth annual Indiana road school, which opened Monday at Purdue University, Lafayette. Other speakers during the week are George E. Hershman of Crown Point, State highway commission member; William J. Titus, chief engineer, and A. H. Hinkle, maintenance superintendent, and President B. C. Elliott of Purdue. The meeting is being conducted under the joint auspices of the highway commission, the Indiana County Highway Superintendents’ Association, the Indiana County Surveyors’ and Engineers’ Association, and the City Street Commissioners' Association of Indiana.
