CLAIMS RECEIVE HELP OFLEGION Estate Rehabilitation Group Has Meeting. The service division of The Indiana American Legion, handled 3,677 cases for ex-service men and their dependents during 1925, according to a report of State Legion offocials made public today. Os this number 1,850 related to claims of disabled men, while 375 others were •services rendered on death claims. Claims for adjusted compensation filed by dependents of deceased veterans numbered 145. " Plans to further claims of veterans were made at a meeting of the rehabiltation committee Sunday. Attending were: C. A. Jackson, Newcastle, State commander; John Goldthwaite, Marion; Dr. Chester A. Stayton, Indianapolis, of the bureau; John Ale, director of the bureau; Dr. Gerald Hiatt, Indianapolis, Dr. C. R. Bittler, Newcastle; P. S. McConnell, Fowler, past State commander and State child welfare chairman; B. W. Breedlove, bureau guardian officer; Frank H. Mclntosh and Dr. C. H. Bayer, all of this city, of the bureau; Frank H. Henley, State adjutant; Mrs. Ethel Tierney, Indianapolis, legion service officer, and J. H. Klinger, State organization officer. Bu United Preen SOUTH Bi}ND, Jan. 18.—Prohibition enforcement is the major problem confronting the people of the United States today, Senator Arthur Robinson told a mass meeting here Sunday night. “The Jaws must be enforced —not uomo laws, but all laws,” Robinson said. "The constitution must and will be upheld. The people must rule and a small minority can not impose its will on the great majority. Sobriety has never injured a nation, drunkeness has-destroyed more" than one.” SUICIDE AT HOSPITAL t Ex-Wrestler Also Cuts Wife and Attending Nurse. Bu 1 nited Preen EVANSVILLE, Ind., Jan. 18.—A widow and Aty-ee children today survive Earl Vessel, former professional wrestler who slashed his throat in a frenzy of delirium at a hospital here. Before taking his own life Weasel tried to murder his wife and the attending nurse with a jagged piece of a water glass. Both women were badly cut in defending themselves. Vessel had been transferred to the hospital for treatment from the county jail, where has was awaiting, trial for bootlegging. BANDITS GET ~~54,000 Youths Hind Night Watchman, Force Department Store Safe. Bn United Preee NEW ALBANY, Ind., Jan. 18.— Five youthful bandits are being sought by police today as the result of a daring robbery which netted them more than $4,000. The youths entered a large department store here, bound the night watchman, forced the safe and fled v.'ith $4,000 in cash and a large number of checks. DUGGER STORES LOOTED Ten Places Robbed; Less Than SIOO in Cash Taken. SCOUTS TO HAVE MEET Plans for North Star District Event Will Be Made. Plans for the North Star district field meet of the Boy Scouts will be completed at a meeting Wednesday night at the Homeof David Porterfield, deputy field commissioner, 3616 Salem St. The meet probably will be held Jan. 30, either at the Indiana School -for the Blind or Broad Ripple High School.
