Regardless of the fact that the season’s heaviest snow descended on Indiana last week, State highways were kepi open every minute mrough efforts of the maintenance force. Albert House, former Indiana bandit, who came south, where he gained tHe reputation of one of Florida’s most notorious gunmen-robbers, today is learning the gentle art* of the chamber maid. Where before A1 House drew gun in the most daring of robberies, the bandit leader now wields the humble broom in the quiet, sequestered bedrooms of Florida's State Prison at Halford, where he is under seventy years’ sentence. The story of House’s prison life was brought here by a fellow convict, Warren Woods, who is to testify in a local theft case. . “A1 House is one of the housemen there now,” Woods said. ‘‘They have got him making up the beds and sweeping floors. “But he’s still got plenty of fight in him.” Woods added. “Al crowned another star boarder in an argument and now wears leg shackles.”

Burn, foreman; Michael Holond, Phil McDuff, an employe, and Harry’ Worthman, an alleged distributor. The indictments were based on an alleged transaction involving the manufacture, sale and distribution of 1,000 gallons of beer. Sheriff Witt is accused of introducing George Osterfeld to Worthman in December, 1924, for the pur. pose of having “Worthman enter an agreement with the Osterfelds to unlawfully manufacture and sell beer.” The others will be arraigndU Monday.

LONDON, Jan. 15.—A man who lost his finger when it became wedged in a crevice of a jeweler’s store, was traced 'by means of the finger, arrested and is now serving out a year's sentence.
