CITY MARKET RHUBARB LESS Fish Prices Rise Fruits, Vegetables Unchanged. Rhubarb was cheaper today on the city market stands and was selling at 30 cents a pound. Other fruit and vegetable prices were, about unchanged, but fish prices were on the upgrade. Oysters sold from 70 cents to $1.25 a quart. Eggs were unchanged, the strictly fresh variety selling at 50 and 55 cents a dozen. Other prices included: White fish, 40 cents a. pound; perch and No. 2 salmon, 30 cents a pound; carp, 15 cents a pound; chickens,'4o and 45 cents a pound; rabbits, 45 cents butter, 58 and 60 cents a pound for the country style; ducks, 50 cents "a pound; alligator pears, 80 cents each, and cranberries, 25 cents a pound. Strawberries were plentiful and sold from $1.15 to $1.25 a quart; grapefruit sold at 3 for 25 cents and 15 cents each; English hothouse grapes were $1 a pound; peas, 35 cents a pound; head lettuce, 15 and 20 cents a head; homegrown celery hearts, 25 cents a bunch; Michigan potatoes, 4 pounds for 25 cents, and Idaho potatoes,-3 pounds for 25 cents.

HIGH-POWER ENGLISH SXX TO BROADCAST Daventry Station Will Take Part in International Tests During Week of Jan. 24-30.

The thrill of thrills for the DX fans, chat of getting foreign stations, will be shared by thousands of listeners during International Radio week, from Jan. 24 to 30. It has been definitely announced that SXX, Daventry, England, the powerful station 'located about eighty miles from London, will broadcast in the first test from 10 until 11 p. m. Sunday, Jan. 24. Os course this station will not be heard at all by owners "of ordinary radio receivers, because it transmits on a high wave length of 1,600 meters, for which it is necessary to have special receiving apparatus. A station for which many fans will listen in will be EAJ7, the new Spanish station at Madrid, which has accepted the invitation to participate in the tests.
