Fireworks sputtered when Kern presented a resolution asking that the architects revise the plans on the school to suit a heating and ventilating device, consisting of ven-tilator-radiator and exhaust fan system. He also asked that the heating and ventilating bids be separated from the electrical bids. Both recommendations were adopted. Minority faction member Charles R. Yoke objected vigorously. ‘‘The system proposed by Kern Is obsolete,” he said. “That system can not furnish the amount of air per cubic feet that is required by the laws of Indiana.” Kern said the law did not specify an amount of air to be delivered in the school rooms. . Would Safeguard Health “I believe the health of the children, which naturally will be affected by the delivery of the proper amount of air, is far more important that the saving of a few dollars to the board,” Yoke declared. Investigation of Qharles Garland's social experiment farm. The body was ordered exhumed Tuesday night, the district attorney maintaining that an autopsy should be performed to determine formally the exact circumstances of the child’s death. Coincident with the order, Bettina Hovey, who is alleged to have been the mother of the child, of which Garland himself is listed as the father, surrendered herself to officers here. She had been missing from the “back to nature” colony since the investigation of the child's death reached a critical stage. The cause reported in the baby’s death certificate was suffocation, resulting from a throat Infection. Garland maintained strict silence today, remaining at the pretty 200acre farm, where he and a group of men and women associates were applying their theories of a community life. BOAT DRIFTS FOURMONTHS Freighter Safe After Hardships and Vain Rescues. Bu Timra Special NEW YORK, Jan. 13.—After being adrift in the Atlantic for four months, since it cleared Rotterdam, Sept. 23, the weather-beaten Norwegian freight- c Stickelstad finally has reached the United States. Ten days out of Rotterdam the propeller was smashed in a storm.* tThe boat was not equipped with radio and could not call aid.) The propeller was repaired only to be damaged in another storm. Through storms and fair weather the Stickelstad drifted until the British steamer Geraldine Mary came along. Two attempts were made to tow the Stickelstad, but the lines brqke. The Geraldine Mary went on. Then later the Norwegian steamer Dampfen attempted to rescue, but failed. Food and water, however, was sent to the Stickelstad. Not until a salvage ship finally found her did the freighter reach Azores. From there it limped through storms to Bermuda and from thence to New York.

The mere thought of building up a fortune completely bluffs the average man—scares him so that he never even makes the attempt. He thinks that fortunes are made a dollar at a time , and building up a fortune with his own single handed money-making capacity looks as hopeless to him as starting a cheese factory on one cow . Asa result , he throws his wages or salary or small income away and DIES POOR. Is this going to happen to YOU?
