A promise that sufficient funds will be appropriated to provide improvements for Sunnyside Tuberculosis Sanatarium, near Oaklandon, was made Monday night by Commissioner Cassius L. Hogle at a meeting of the Irvington Republican Club. Hogie said the county could not afford to buy the two churches located in the World M ar Memorial Plaza and finance new buildings for Sunnyside. Charles O. Sutton, commissioners’ board president, has expressed himself in favor of spending more money at Sunnyside. Dr. Harold S. Hatch, Sunnyside superintendent, spoke on the work at the institution. THEFTS INVESTIGATED Burglaries Reported—Girl Says Her Purse Was Seized. Police investigated several burglaries and thefts Monday night and early today. One purse was seized. Miss Elnore Anderson, 805 Fletcher Ave.,' said she was walking near her home when a man ran up and seized some books, a purse with $lO and a pair of glasses valued at $25. Baker, deputy clerk of the State Supreme and Appellate Courts, was hailed today by friends as the first president of the Indiana Democratic Club ever honored with reelection.
