Short detour two and one-half miles northwest of Thomtown. No. 12 (Vincennes. Spencer. Indianapolis)—Drive carefully at approaches to temporary bridge two miles north of Lotport. No. 22 (English. Paoli. Bedford, Bloomington. Martinsville, Indianapolis)—Closed at a point five miles south of Indianapolis for constructing overhead railroad bridge. Detour is out S. Meridian St. and Three Notch Rd.: thence over one mile of gravel to Rd. 22. Closed between Martinsville and Bloomington and English and Paoli for paving. Through traffic between Martinsville and Bloomington use Rds. 12 and 82. Use old bridge and old road account of bridge and road constriction two miles south of Bedford. At Paoli take a county road to Grantsbunr via Marengo and English. Avoid south of Grantsburg account construction and no detour roads. No. 3" (Indianapolis. Anderson. Brook - rille. Ohio line)—Run-around at bridge construction three miles Bouth of Cedar Grove. MISSIONARY TO SPEAK Agricultural Workers Front Indiana Will Talk at Church. Sam Higginbottom, pioneer agriculture missionary in, Indiana, will •peak the night of Jon. 21, at the First Presbyterian church. Higginbottom Is endeavoring to raise $13(1,000 to buy farm implements for the agricultural institute at- Allahabad, India. Dr. Matthew F. Smith, First Presbyterian pastor, said Higginbottom, Is teaching the natives how to raise enough food to live on. It is said 80 per cent go to bed hungry •very night.
MAY ABANDON LINES Red Ball Receiver Asks Permission To Sell Certificates. Abandonment of the Indiana Red Ball Bus Lines’ three routes between Indianapolis and South Bend was forecast when Fred I. Jones, receiver, petitioned the public service commission to sell route certificates to the Indiana Motor Bus Company of Plymouth. Proposed sale price is $19,999. The companies compete between Rochester and Bend.
