FACTORY FIRE LOSS $40,000 Commercial Box Company Is Destroyed. Investigation was being made today to determine the origin of a fire that destroyed the Commercial Box Company, 1410 Capitol Ave., causing a damage of $40,000 late Monday. Fire Chief John J. O'Brien, who lives near the factory, said flames enveloped the building when he first saw the blaze. Second alarm was sounded and eleven companies responded! lines of hose were used. John and Andrew Alexander, owners, said five auto trucks, machinery and materials used to manufacture and rebuild boxes were destroyed in the blaze. Sparks caused a SI,OOO damage to a duplex occupied by P. Flacker and Paul Jardina, 715 Greer St., Monday. Firemen only answered ten alarms from 7 p. m. Monday until 7 a. m. today.

Lew Wing, manager of Shanghai Tea Garden at English's Hotel, said forty tables had been reserved. A special program of entertainment will be followed by dancing. Entertainment for about 500 members of the Athenaeum will start at 9 p. m., Richard Werner, manager, said.
