Lynch, president of the union, and other officials will welcome visitors at the reception. Motion Picture A motion picture entitled “His Brother’s Keeper,” will be shown at Intervals during the reception, which will continue throughout the noon and evening. This picture was produced by the Typographical Union and illustrates the welfare activities of the organization. A number of scenes are laid at the Union Printers’ Home, Colorado Springs, Colo. “The International Typographical Union spends twelve times as much cn beneficial activities as it does on trade regulation,” said Hays. “We are endeavoring to stress the significance of this new trend of trade unionism and to that end plan to reveal the operations of a great international union, to ail who care to attend our headquarters opening.” Founded in 1852 The International Typographical Union was founded at a convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1852. Local unions of printers were formed in Eastern cities as early as 1975. Horace Greeley was the first president of New York Typographical Union No. 6 and Thurlow Weed was an officer of the tame organiation. Both continued to take an active interest in the union’s affairs throughout their lives. The International Union now comprises subordinate unions in the United States, Canada, the Hawaiian and Porto Rico. CHARLESTON ONPRORGAM New Year’s Eve Party Sponsored by Veterans.
