NINE DRIVERS ARE SLATED IN WAR ON SPEED One Caught by Police Chief After Chase-Three Ride in Patrol. In spit© of the ice and snow covered streets, nine alleged speeders , were arrested by city and county ! officers late Tuesday. Three were •’ taken to city prison In the patrol. One of the speeders Tuesday passed, Police Chief Herman P. Riknoil at La Salle and E. Washington 'Sts. ‘‘Go get him, Andy,” he said to Patrolman Clary, his driver. When the speeding auto was overtaken at Arsenal Ave., the chief said his speedometer showed seventy miles an hour. The driver gave his name as Edward Brooks, 19, of 1953 Barth Ave. When haled into court, Rlkhoff admitted his speedometer might have been a little fast. Brooks was fined sls and costs. Booze Found Sheriff Hawkins and his deputies caught a speeding auto on the National Road, near Cumberland. On searching the auto, they said they found five gallons of alcohol. Adam

Barnett was slated on charges of speeding, transporting liquor, conspiracy to committt a felony, operating a blind tiger and having improper license plates on his auto. Miss Anna May White, 24, of 965 Elm St., was charged with conspiracy and operating a blind tiger. Three drivers were ridden in the patrol wagon. They were Robert Montgomery, 18, of 3054 Southerland Ave., and Charles Bange, 18, of 3741 Ruckle St., both charged with thirtyeight miles an hour and Ray Ralston, 19, of 1516 Astor St., charged with forty-two mile3. Others Slated Others slated on speed charges were: Walker S. Voss, 32, of 305 N. Chester Ave.; Silas Madden, 31, of 1116 W. Twenty-Ninth St.; Edward Wurgler, 35, of 730 N. Meridian St. Newton Green, 30, of 1165 W. TwentySeventh St., and Henry Miller, 40, of 610 S. Illinois St., were charged with driving while intoxicated. Miller is also charged with failure to have certificate of title and license. TRAVELING SALESMAN DIES Hu Times Special NOBLESVILLE, Ind., Dec. 23 Harry Hull, Sr., 55. widely known traveling salesman, died at his home here today. Three daughters and two sons survive.
