ONE-WAY AUTO TRAFFIC RULE IS CHAMPIONED Motor Club Manager Disagrees With Schortemeier. Sentiment is decidedly in favor of one-way traffic on Meridian St. during rush hours, Todd Stoops, Hoo- • sier Motor Cluo manager, said today. Frederick 13. John R. McQuigg, national commander, declared the Legion would use all its influence to have the bill passed at the present session of Congres in an address to former service men here. “The burden of future wars must not be borne by the few as in the past,” McQuigg said. "Capital and industry must stand their share.” TWO STUDENTS HELD Two Purdue University students, Burke Dugle, 19, Rushville, Ind., and Stanton Greene, 19, Lafayette, Ind., are held at city prison today, .charged with being fugitives. Loren Sims, 19, of 3018 Kenwood Ave., is charged with vagrancy, and two Indianapolis young women arrested with the three Saturday night are at liberty. Police say they caught the five in an automobile, after a thrilling chqse over miles of north Indianapolis streets and country roads. The chase started when a "stop” sign was passed. It is said that Dugle and Green stole an automobile, the property of Howard Wallace, Lafayette.

Roy Neighbors, 40, of 534 E. Michigan St., driver, was charged with assault and battery. INMAN VISITS GOVERNOR Attorney Denies Anything YVas Said Concerning D. C. Stephenson. Eph Inman, chief defense counsel during the trial at Noblesville of D. C- Stephenson, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for connection with the death of Madge Oberholtzer, caused considerable stir at the Statehouse today when he called on Governor Jackson. Following the conference Inman denied anything was said concerning Stephenson. A appeal from the decisio will be take to Supreme Court as soon as a transcript of the case can be made. Supreme Court can sustain the lower court’s decision or reverse it, while Governor Jackson has the sole power of pardon or parole.
