DRUG STORES IN PHONE ROW Courts to Decide Despute at Newcastle. Bv United Press NEWCASTLE, Ind., Dec. 18.— The fight over demand of the Indiana Bell Telephone Company for use of coin box telephones in local drug stores was up to the courts today for settlement. Sam Denton, drug store owner, sought an Injunction to restrain the telephone company from removing the telephone from his place of business. Denton refused to obey the order of the Indiana Bell to install a coin box phone or to let the company move his phone to a location in the store where it would not be accessible to customers. “As long as I pay my bill it Is none of the company's business who uses the phone,” Denton said. The company struck back by ordering service to his store discontinued and Denton went into court for an injunction. Other drug store owners are supporting him in his fight. JUDGMENT WITHHELD Judgment was withheld by Special Judge H. B. Pike against Thomas Francis in Criminal Court Thursday afternoon when Francis was found guilty on a drunk charge. He appealed from city court where he was fined $lO and costs. Hershel Holland, colored, also charged with drunkenness was fined $lO and costs.
