TURKS CONDEMN LEAGUE OPENLY Asiatib Alliance of Nations Advocated. Bu United Press CONSTANTINOPLE, Dc. 18.— “An Asiatic League of Nations’* la advocated by the Turkish press today in the course of vlturepative articles against the present League of Nations. Sensational condemnation of the Mosul decision Is voiced, the papers adding that Turkey Is unwilling to enter the present organization. The council of ministers so far has failed to reach any decision as to Turkey’s course toward the award of Mosul to Iraq, over which Britain will exercise an extended mandate. SCHOOL HACK IN CRASH Bu Times Evecioh WARSAW, Ind., Deo. 18.—A Wayne township school hack, containing a number of children, was badly damaged when It collided with an automobile near this city. None of the occupants was injured.
T. B. Association Furnishes 7 Equipment for New School. When the new fresh air rooms at School No. 22, Kansas and Illinois Sts., are opened soon after Jan. 1 the pupils will not have to worry about keeping warm. Fresh air school equipment Is being moved to the school by the Marlon County Tuberculosis Association, which Is supplying suits and blankets for the children. The blankets, received at the school, are being prepared for use, on their arrival, by Morris Bloom, 1010 S. Meridian St.; Estol Kirkpatrick, 117 Kansas St., and Harry Keeney, 21 Palmer St. Thirty anemic children will be enrolled In the health program which will center at the new rooms In the Nebraska Cropsey School Bldg. The Parent-Teacher Association at the school has appropriated money for a kitchen, from which the children In the fresh air rooms will be supplied with lunches. \

GALLOWS READY, BUT BOY LIVES Last-Minute Reprieve Saves 19-Year-OJd Slayer. Bu United Press CHICAGO, Dec. 18.—Another of Chicago’s famous last-minute reprieves today saved Campbell McCarthy, 19-year-old negro, from hanging for the murder of Christian Geltzen, watchman, during a holdup. McCarthy was scheduled to hang at 7 a. m. today. All preparations had been completed. Including testing of the gallows. Early today Judge John P. MeGoorty was routed out of bed and prevailed upon to hold court to hear a plea of Insanity. At a. m. the court Issued a stay, pending examination of the negro. DRIVER SENT TO JAIL ELKHART, Ind., Deo. 188.—Leo Kehoe, Warsaw foundryman, charged with driving an atuomobile while Intoxicated, was given a jail sentence and fined when arraigned In the city court
