BOY’S SLAYING INVESTIGATED Lad Caught Between Gun Men and Police. Bv United Press MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. IB.—Slaying of Donald Diment, 18, widow’s son, believed to have been caught In the cross-fire between two retreating robbers and pursuing police, was Investigated today. The boy was hastening home through an alley. Two bandits were being fired upon by police, who caught them raiding a meat marekt. The robbers were returning the Are. There was a groan. One of the policemen searched a fallen body for firearms and shouted to a companion officer that a bandit had gone down. The body was that of Diment. SCUFFLE MAY BE FATAL Old Gun Discharged, Wounds Youth in Stomach. Bv United Press BRAZIL, Ind., Dec. 15.—Earl Tibbetts, 16, was injured seriously today by the accidental discharge of an old rifle. Earl was scuffling with his brother, Donald, 13, when It went off. The bullet passed through Earl’s stomach and physicians hold little hope for his recovery.

Nearby was a table with two empty liquor bottles and two empty glasses. Responsible parties may be punished, Chancellor J. G. Bowman said.
