INDIANA FARMS SHOWJDECLINE Decrease Due to Hard Times During 1920-25. Bu Times Special WASHINGTON, Dec. 4.—Along h many other States, Indiana ws a decrease In the number of farms from 1920 to 1925, according to a preliminary farm census report today by the Bureau of Census. The State total In 1925 was 195,787, against 205,126 in 1920. / Marion County farms dropped from 2,855 to 2,452. Vigo County farms dropped from 2,770 to 2,428. Vanderburg County farms dropped from 1,686 to 1,598. The number of farms in the State has shown a progressive decline from 1900. In that year there were 221,897, which went down to 215,485 in 1910. No reason IS assigned for the 19201920 decrease, but it is partially due to the hard times farmers had betweeen those, years, and to the consolidation dr farms. CONSUMES HALF AN APPLE The per capita consumption of apples in the United States is now about half an apple a day, occordIng to the Unied States Department Df Agricultux-e.
