COTTLE TO GET PRATER TERM Boy-Bandit to Plead Guilty to Accessory Saturday. A plea of guilty to accessory to manslaughter will be made by Lawrence Cottle, 16, In Criminal Court Saturday morning before Judge James A. Collins, H. B. Pike, the boy’s atttorney, said today. Cottle will then be given a two to twenty-one-year sentence at Indiana State Reformatory, the same given Edward Prater, 16, Cottle’s companion, who fatally shot Forest Van Devere, a street car conductor. Prater was sentenced in the Hamilton County Circuit Court, after he was permitted

to plead guilty to manslaughter. He was Indicted on a murder charge. J. C. Cottle, the defendant’s father, was to arrive here today with his wife from their home at Danville, 111. At the time of the shooting Cottle had only been In Indianapolis a month. He was living with his brother while looking for work here. Prosecutor 'William H. Reniy, who has received written statements from Prater and Cottle as to the conditions in local poolrooms, is expected to disclose some of the facts at the trial Saturday. Police officials and county authorities today were continuing their drive on vice in this! city and county. An investigation which is said to have ' already involved a number of high sctiol girls and prominent married men of the city has been In progress Btnce the arrest sometime ago of three men, now serving prison sentences, for contributing to the delinquency of young girls. Two men and a woman are in jail here today on similar charges. The men are charged with contributing to deliquency of two girls, one 12 and the other 14, who are now under care of physicians. The woman Is alleged to have allowed the men to hold "wild parties" at her home.
