SURVEY SHOWS HUGE JUMP IN APPEAL CASES j Supreme and Appellate Courts Jammed as Convictions Increase. In connection with the gradual inar ease in the number of convictions n criminal cases, a corresponding growth has taken place in the number of cases which have been appealed to the State Supreme and Appellate Courts, according to Zachariah T. Dungan,-clerk. ' The general increase in appealed cases possibly may be attributed to the strictness of five State liquor laws and other penal statutes, Duncan says. During the November 125) term of the two higher tribunals a. total of 854 cases were dock>ted, Dungan pointed out, whereas, luring the May (1925) term only 784 ■ases came t>e.fore the two courts.
