Edna Hibbard Tells Why She Likes Her Part in Belasco Hit

“It has been my constant aim to play as widely divergent roles as possible, so that I will never be set down as an actress of any particular type of character, and that is why my present role in ‘Ladies of the Evening’ appeals to me, as it is unlike any of my previous parts,” declares Edna Hibbard, who plays the role of Dot Miller in this play, which opens at English’s tonight. “I believe,” she states, "an actress who scores a success in a part and then continues to play the same part in several plays, will soon find herself so definitely identified in the minds of both the managers and public as a type, that only by a stroke of luck will she ever have the opportunity of proving her versatility in different roles. "During my connection with several stock companies. I, of course, assumed all sorts of characters, and since leaving that field I have played in farce, drama, comedy and musical productions. “I portrayed the leading role In 'Pair and Warmer,’ danced and sang in ‘Bock-a-Bye Baby’ and ‘Tumble In,’ was a Texas flapper in ‘The Bad Man.’ and the pathetic Chineso wife in ‘The Poppy God.’ ‘‘ln ‘Gringo’ I was the half-breed Mexican heroine and last season the young girl around whom the action of 'The Crooked Square’ revolved. All last spring and summer I played the role of a young wife in vaudeville sketch and now in. ‘Ladies of the evening’ I have the most unusual role I have yet created. “I feel in playing these various roles I have expanded and broadened my powers of characterization, a thing I would never have been able to do If I continued to always play the same type of roles.” -I- -I- -IJRTSH PLAYLET DUE AT PALACE ‘‘Vaudeville’s sweetest little Irish playlet," is the billing for the song and story romance “Moonlight in Killarney,” which is presented at the Palace Theater the last half of this week with Thomas Fullmer. Danny Barrett and two women entertainers. This quartet plays the part of an old and a young couple, whose romances are singularly interwoven. “A bee hive full of honey,” is reported to be in store for theatergoers when the five original Honey boys feature their songs, chatter, and blackface minstrelsy bits. Eccentric dancing numbers are also found on their program. Leon and Dawn, a sister team, are called the most genuine portrayers of "Kid” characters and in their “Kids is Kids,” act as a sissy girl

Dread of Extraction Found Without Foundation More and more the family physician is asking his patient, when chronic disorders stubbornly resist treatment and the operating table seems near, “How about your teeth? Are they in good order?’’ To put off extracting a decayed tooth or one that has an abscess at the root, is to leave a poison center in the body that makes disease incurable. It is with the utmost pleasure that we recommend the People’s Dentists for painless extracting of teeth. Mrs. Eakin haying had 24 extracted and myself 25 without any pain whatever.
