Not a few expressed gratification at the improved business conditions of the last few months. Frederic M. Ayres, president of L. S. Ayres and Corftpany, was one of these and added: “We see many signs that justify extreme optimism for the' coming season.” A man thankful to work! That’s Judge Frank J. Lahr of Juvenile Court. “Can’t think of anything I’m more thankful for, aside from my home and family, that the daily opportunity I have here of helping little children into better home conditions,” he said. “Every morning, I start down to my work, eager to get there.
