CURTAIN FRAYS IN BIG TEN Title Hinges on Minnesota and Michigan ClashOther Rivalry Games. By Edward C. Derr United Press Staff Correspondent CHICAGO, Nov. 20.—The grand finale of the 1925 football season in the Big Ten conference comes Saturday In four games, one of which will determine the championship. First place will be at stake when Minnesota and Michigan clash at Ann Arbor. A victory for the Gophers will make them undisputed champions with two wins and and a tie game comprising their season’s conference record. If Michigan wins, the Gophers will be tumbled far down the list because of the slim schedule, and Michigan will be rated the most powerful team in the conference. The Wolverine record would then be five victories and one defeat and second honors would go to Northwestern, with three wins and one defeat. The Illinois-Ohio State game at Columbus brings together two ancient rivals, but since both teams have been eliminated from titular consideration, the chief interest in this battle will center around Red Grange, who finishes his collegiate career and has promised to make public immediately after the game his plans for the future. Chicago and Wisconsin, with identical records to date, meet at Sfagg Field. There is no love lost between these two universities and the game is always bitterly contested. Indiana and Purdue will fight it out for cellar position at Bloomington. Each team has three Big Ten defeats and no victories to boast about. The other conference schools have finished their schedules and will meet strong non-conference teams, Northwestern clashing with Notre Dame at South Bend, and lowa playing Southern California at Los Angeles.
