ROADS OPENED, SAYS HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SHEET State Bulletin Gives Conditions Over Indiana. The 9tate hmighway commission in the past tew days has opened several miles of pavement and gravel roads, the commission’s weekly traffic bulletin announced today. The Crothersville-Scottsburg section of State Rd. 1 was opened excepting a mile at Marshfield; State Rd. 40 was opened between Rising Sun and Aurora; Rd. 10 between Oaktown and Carlisle, and Rd. 11 for about ten mile south of Marion. Surface conditions, detours, and conditions of State roads out of Indianapolis for the week of Nov. 2127, were given in the bulletin as follows: No. 1 (New Albany. Closed between Martinsville and Bloomington and English to Paoli for paving. Through traific between Martinsville and Bloomington use Rds. 12 and 32. Closed at new bridge two mhes south of Bedford. There Is a local detour, narrow, but in fair condition; also a detour east in Bedford on Rd. 4, thence southeast on bituminous macadam road via Biverdale to Rd. 22 at Mitchell. From Paoli take a county road to Grantsburg via Marengo and English. Avoid south of Grantsburg account of construction and no detour roads. .... No. 37 (Indianapolis. Anderson. Muncie) —Using new pavement from Indianapolis to Muncie. Detour for bridge construction at Ingalls. Use old Rd. 11 at Junction of Rds. 11 and 37 from two and onehalf miles south of Pendleton to where old Rd. 11 intersects new State road. (This is about two miles northeast of Pendleton.) Drive this route carefully, as workmen are building shoulders. No. 39 (Indianapolis. Rushville, Brooltvllle, Ohio line) —Closed between Juliette and Hawthorne (Marion County) for paving. East-bound traffic detour over county road, meeting National Rd, near Cumberland. thence on National Rd to Indianapolis. Run-around at bridge construction threo miles south of Cedar Grove. BARBECUES COVERED State Health Board Division Makes Report After Survey. The danger of eating flies and bugs at barbecue stands in Indiana has been reduced greatly, a report of the chemical division of the laboratory of hygiene, State health board for the year which ended Sept. 30, 1925, indicated today. The report said that practically all the barbecue roasters have been covered with either metal or glass cases. The laboratory Inspected 1,000 stands at State fair and county fairs.
