LEADER OF GANG IS SHOT DOWN Guns Blaze In Chicago Booze Feud. ftri United Preae CHICAGO, Nov: 11.—Samuel Amatuna, booze gang leader, was near death today as a result of the war that is being waged for control of Chicago’s illicit alcohol. Araatuna was shot down last night as he was preparing to attend the Chicago opera. The assailants escaped. Amatuna was one of the popular choices. Next month he was to have married a sister of Merlo’s widow, and factional leaders saw in the wedding a chance for Amatuna to gain the support of the Merlo crowd.
