The State finance committee today was expected to finish its hearing of protests from State employes and department heads against recent salary reductions. The committee then will determine to What extent the cuff* made last month will remain In effect. Among those protesting Monday were Alfred Hogs ton, State fire marshal; John J. Brown and Owen Boling of the State tax board. Clyde H. Jones and Howell Ellis of the public service commission, and Dixon Bynum of the State Industrial board. All protested on cuts In their departments.
