MANY IN STATE POORLY HOUSED Insanitary Conditions Described in Report. It is not difficult in Indiana to find unsanitary housing: conditions emphasized in every commmunity, In fact, people may be found abundantly in this State “housed" In shacks, stables, old store buildings, garrets and' numerous improvised, unsafe and unhealthy tenement rooms for which, in many cases, an excessive rent is collected. This was the declaration of A. E. Wert, director of housing in the State health department, in his annual report. He stressed the continuance of the housing shortage. During the year, the housing division issued 1,049 orders against improper housing conditions. The division inspected housing conditions in 189 Indiana cities and town; received 529 complaints against improper housing; made 2,552 inspections; ordered twenty-nine apartments, thirty houses and ninty-two rooms vacated; ordered nine houses razed, and thirteen cleaned, and ordered trash and garbage removed from nlnty-five dwellings. INDIANA GAME ON AIR Annual Football Battle With Purdue to Be Broadcast. Bu Timm Special BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Nov. 6. The Purdue-Indiana football game here and the pow wow festivities in connection with the dedication of the new stadium will be broadcast by the new Sears-Roebuck station, WLS, the night of Nov. 20 and the following afternoon. Wave length is 345 meters. A long distance leased wire from Bloomington direct to the Chicago sending station will be used. AT STATE “Y” MEETING Butler University and Indiana Central College Y. M. C. A. and Y. W. C. A.’s sent forty delegates to attend the State conference today at Purdue University, Lafayette. The conference will end Sunday.
