STATE SWINE MEN HONORED Three Asked to Be Judges at Stock Show. Three Indiana swine authorities have been invited by the directors of the International Live Stock Exposition to serve as judges in Chicago, Nov. 28 to Dec. 5. E. J. Barker of Thorntown, secretary of the State Board of Agri’ulture, will make the awards In Berkshire barrow classes as he did last year. He is president of the National Swine Growers’ Association. He is the oldest breeder of Berkshires in this country. L. D. Stewart of Tipton will judge the Duroc-Jerseys. He has been a Duroc breeder for many years and has judged at the Atlanta, Kentucky State, Indiana State Fair and other big shows. Prof. W. W. of Purdue University will tie the ribbons in the Spotted Poland China classes and pass upon the boys and girls pigs entered in the Junior Bleeding Contest. is on the Animal Husbandry staff University. New members are to be initiated. ..DOG SHOW PLANNED Boston Terrier Club to Have Specialty Exhibit Here. The Boston Terrier Club of Indiana will open its first specialty show at the Denison Nov. 11. John A. Ivyte, Newton, Mass., will act as judge of the entries and Dr. Henry Martin, Cincinnati, will be show superintendent. Trophies will be given prize winners, in addition to $75 in wish prizes.
