DE PAUW IS ALL SET FOR ANNUAL ‘OLD GOLD DAY’ Senator Watson to Be Chief Speaker—Football in Afternoon. Mu Time* Special GREENCASTLE, lnd., Oct. 29 Old Gold day, the annual homecoming for De Pituw University, will l>e bold Saturday. Hundreds of alumni of the school are expected to return. Sen.itor James. E. Watson, who graduated from De Pauw University in 1886, will speak at chapel exercises Saturday morning in Bowman Gymnasium. Following the chapel, the student body will march to the ■McKern Athletic Field, where the annual freshman-sophomore scrap will be held. The parade to the field will be in class groups, where the traditional class garb \VilI be displayed for the first time this year. The class scrap this year has been changed from the former pole rush | to anew four-event contest, includ- I ing an obstacle race, a tug of war, a sack rush, and a football rush. Immediately after the class scrap, the annual /junior-senior football game will be played. Football Game The De Pauw-Franklin football game will be held in the afternoon at Blackstock Athletic Field. As Franklin defeated De Pauw by a score of 20 to 0, last year, the Tigers are determined to avenge themselves in the clash Saturday. Other ceremonies of the day are the class exercises at the glad pole, at which time the freshmen will receive their green caps and the class presidents will address the rest of the students, and the interfraternity showdown at 8 p. m. Fraternities and sororities taking part are: KappjL Kappa Gamma, Delta Delta Delta. Alpha Omicron Pi, Delta 55eta, Phi 0 amma Delta, Sigma Chi, Alpha Tau Omega and Lambda Chi Alpha. The fraternity which presents the best stunt will receive a trophy awarded by the Student Council. Special Publication Special publications for the day will be the De Pauw Co-ed Extra, published by Theta Sigma Phi, woman’s journalistic fraternity, and the first issue of the Yellow Crab, humorous publication of Sigma Delta Chi. Helen Thackrey of Lyons, Ken., will act as editor of the Co-ed extra and Paul Cook of Bedford will edit the 'rab. Rii f'nitrit Prcwt WASHINGTON, Oct. 29.—Indiana may be asked to hold an autopsy over the bodies of Mary DeVoe, 26, nurse and her premature baby. The bodies were buried at Kendallville, lnd.. Oct. 25, following the girl’s death in a private sapitarium in Bethseda, Md. Dr. Henry M. Dixon, 54, Washington, arrested in connection with the girl's death, was released Wednesday night under $5,000 bond. He denies he performed any operation, but says the girl came to him October 16 an diusked him to find her a private sanitarium where the baby could be born. The father of the baby, said to be a prominent Washington business man, lias not yet been officially named.
