Old Folks Must j NotUse‘Thysics’l
While Dr. W. B. Caldwell of Monticello, 111., a practicing physician for 47 years, knew that constipation was the curse of advancing age, he did not believe that a "purge” or “physic” every little while was necessary. To him, it seemed cruel that

so many constipated old people had to be kept constantly “stirred up” and half sick by taking cathartic pills, tablets, salts, calomel and nasty oils every day or two. In Ij>r. Caldwell’s Syrup Pepsin he discovered a laxative which regulates the bowels of old folks. A single dose will establish natural, healthy bowel movement for weeks at a time, even for those chronically constipated. Dr. Caldwell’s Syrup Pepsin not only causes a gentle, easy bowel movement but, best of all, it is often months before another dose is necessary. Besides, it is absolutely harmless and pleasant to take. If past fifty, buy a lirge 60-cent bottle at any Q £ JJ , store that sells KAUCZWeiI S medicine and SYRUP Just see for nnno.u yourself. *

GOBLINS MARSHALED FOR BIG HALLOWEEN Stores Report Costumes, False Faces and Favors Are Much in Demand —Many Noise Makers Available.
It won’t be only the goblins that’ll getcha if ya don't watch out, this Halloween! There’ll be witches, gypsies, Indians, pirates, and a whole Noah's ark full of animals that’ll light out after you—Judging by the way the costumes and falsefaces are being sold at all the downtown stores. For this is the biggest year, say merchants in goblinery, they’ve had in some time. Perhaps the big Mardi Gras Saturday night is somewhat responsible, but there seems to be an unusual number of Halloween parties planned for the week. Favors in Demand Consequently the clever favors displayed are in great demand. In case you aren’t properly equipped with enough noise makers there .are still a variety of them to be found. Besides the usual cat cries and bazoo things, razzle-daz-zles and horns, favors of cardboard pumpkins dressed up in crepe paper will make cricket sounds when you squeeze ’em. One of the great favorites among favors seems to be the Jack Horner pie, with prizes and fortunes attached to ribbonc, concealed in its papery depths. Small pumpkin place cards, found at one place, stick out their tongues at the slightest provocation. Made of Candy The candy favors are most unique this year. How the kids would love the large round all-day suckers, with pecan nut eyes and mouth, and a small almond of a nose. Small fat goblins in orange crepe paper were discovered to be suckers, too. Chocolate soldiers have nothing on chocolate eats—especially this time of year, and round table conferences of witches, cats and goblins were to be found at every candy shop. All in all, its bound to be a most successful Halloween —and If a black cat skips right in front of you. CHARGES FOLLOW CRASH Man Hurt in Accident Sent to Jail; Four Affidavits Filed.
