NEARLY ALL MUNCIE ROAD IN PAVEMENT / State Bulletin Gives Conditions on Indiana Highways. Motorists may travel frpm Indianapolis to Muncie on State roads without leaving the pavement except a mile gap between Fortville and McCordsville and on a bridge detour at Ingalls. / This was announced In the weekly bulletin issued today by the traffic department of the State highway commission. The bulletin also announced rapid progress on paving sections of State Rd. 10 and that nine miles of new pavement has been opened bn Rd. 26 between Hlkhart and Middlebury. Conditions of roads out of Indianapolis were set forth in the bulletin as follows: No. 1 (New Albany. Indianapolis. South Bend. Michigan line) —Detour from two miles north of Edinburg to Franklin aecount paving:. Follow old State kg. a south of Crothersville. Closed from fioottsburg- to six and fourih-tenths miles eouth, for ten days while temporary bridge Is going- up. Detour to right at intersection of State Rd. 40 following marked SIS No. 3 (Richmond. Indianapolis. Torre Haute)—Bridge run-around at six miles west of Richmond. Detour at five miles east of Terre Haute account paving will be lifted Oct. 17 then road closed occasionally in the day time until shoulders can bo completed. , No. 37 (Indianapolis, Anderson to Muncie) —Pavement from Indianapolis to Muncie except a mile stretch between McCordsville and Fortville, southwest of Anderson. where detour is marked. Detour also around bridge at Ingalls. Use old lid 11 at junction of 11 and 37 from two and one-half miles south oi Pendleton to Pendleton, thence on marked detour to Rd. 37 at Huntsville. Drive this route carefully as workmen are all along the lino building; shoulders. No. 39 (Indianapolis. Rushville, Brookviile, Ohio line!—Closed between Julietta and Hawthorne (Marion County) for paving. East bound traffic follow marked detour to south of 30. West bound traffic detour over county road meeting National Rd. near Cumberland, thence on National Rd. to Indianapolis. Run-around at bridge construction three miles eouth of Cedar Grove. , N0.15 (Indianapolis. Logansport. Michigan City)—Closed for six miles south of Logansport. account construction: good detour marked. Closed in north edge of Indianapolis account city sewer construction .Short detour at Boylestou account new bridge. No. 22 (English, Paoli. Bedford. Bloomington, Martinsville. Indianapolis) Closed at a point about five miles south of Indianapolis account of construction overhead bridge across Illinois Central tracks. In-bound traffic detour to cast over marked detour to Three-Notch Rd., one mile of gravel road, thence into Indianapolis over paved road entering city via S. Meridian St. Out-bound traffic go out S. Meridian St. over same route. Closed between Martinsville and Bloomington, ami from Eng--I‘sh to Paoli for paving. (Through traffic between Martinsville and Bloomington go via Spencer over Rds. 12 and 13. Tnere is a detour for local traffic, but it is poor.) Closed at new bridge two miles south of Bedford. Detour east in Bedford on No. aT - thence southeast on a bituminous ma. oadam road via Riverdale to Rd. 22 at Mitchell. From Paoli is a county road to Gruntsburg via Marengo and English. Avoid south of Grantsburg account construction and no detour road.

Memorial services for Edward Rector of Chicago, benefactor of De Pauw University were held in Bowman memorial building at the university today. The services were the most impressive ever seen here.
