scale a wall at the Indiana State Woman’s Prison, Saturday, Oct. 10, and escape. Mrs. Carl today told a Times reporter that she had no other motives and that she intended to return to the prison after she saw her sister and serve the life sentence imposed on her by a jury in Greenfield, Ind., In 1922, when she was charged with poisoning her husband and father-in-law, to collect Insurance. Mrs. Carl was captured in the interurban station at Columbus, Ohio, Saturday night, by two detcetives who were watching for her. Detective Ben 'Lansing returned Mrs. Carl here. She was lodged In city prison pending removal to the State institution. “I walked, begged rides, paid for rides, and slept in the open the

seven nights I was free,” said Mrs. Carl. I slept In a bed one night when a farm family took me in. I don’t want to tell their name because they were Innocent and deserve no blame.” ‘‘l know I was nervous and easy to detect,” she said, “ and I walked until the blood ran from my toes when I took my shoes off. I was afraid to come in at night and I was afraid to stay out. I stood it as long as t could and Friday night I wrote letters, one to Mrs. Elliott, the prison superintendent, in which I told here not to look for me any more that I was coming back after I saw my sister. Another was mailed to my attorney. Ambition Thwarted "After all, my one ambition was thwarted, I have never yet seen my sister whom I understand suffered a relapse when she heard about me, I can see nothing in the future,” said Mrs. Carl, with tears in her eyes, as she walked back to her cell. Detectives here worked on a theory that a man met Mrs. Carl at the prison, supplied transportation, and gave her money. Mrs. Carl would not talk on this subject. Officials guarded against her threat to fake her life. Mrs. Carl will be deprived of all liberties at the Woman’s Prison, according to Miss Margaret Elliott, superintendent. She will no longer be a trusty and will be deprived of communication with other prisonersand visits from friends for three months. MOVIE WILL BE SHOWN "A Day at Sunnyslde,” the new motion picture devoted to an exposition of Marion County’s tuberculosis sanatorium at Oaklandon, will be shown as part of the program of a meeting of the B’nai Brilh at the new Beth-el Temple, Thirty-Fourth and Ruckle Sts., at 8 p. m. today.

Acid Stomach “Phillips Milk of Magnesia” Better than Soda
Hereafter, instead of soda take a little “Phillips Milk of Magnesia” in water any time for indigestion or sour, acid, gassy stomach, and relief will come instantly. For fifty years genuine “Phillips Milk of Magnesia” has been prescribed by physicians, because It overcomes three times as much acid in the stomach as 'a saturated solution of bicarbonate of soda, leaving the stomach sweet and free from all gases. It neutralizes acid fermentations in the bowels and gently urges the souring waste from the system without purging. Besides, It Is more pleasant to take than soda.
