DRY OFFICERS ARE INDICTED Federal Men Face Attack Charges at Peoria. B v United Prene PEORIA, 111.. Sept. 30.—Lone Wolf Asher. Max Hartals, dry agents acting out of Washington, D. CJ., and Walter Moody, deputy •United States marshal out of Springfield, 111., were indicted on charges of assault and robbery, larceny and assault with Intent to Injure by a grand jury which reported in Judge Thomas N. Green's principal court late Tuesday. The Federal men are alleged to have attacked persons whose places were raided by them In their wholesale clean-up of Peoria last July. Action Is expected to be taken by United States District Attorney Williamson to remove cases from the jurisdiction of Judge Green to the Federal Court here. The indictments of the grand jurors were reported late In the afternoon after they had first returned a long report in which they scored the action of the dry raiders. BRITISH REDS LOSE Efforts to Inject Communism in Labor Party Fail. In three separate votes taken at the opening session of the annual labor party conference the laborites voted nine to one against any Intercourse with the Communists. C. I. Ramp, chairman of the conference, declared the task was not:' to war on classes but to conquer Circumstances that caused such warfare. Ramsay MacDonald, former prime minister, declared the Communists wanted civil war, while the laborites sought u parliamentary victory. to "advertise"state Real Estabc Board Launches Plan for Campaign. A $600,000 State and national campaign to advertise the industrial advantages of Indiana was outlined by J. C. Shafer, Anderson, president of the Indiana Real Estate Association and L. K. A plan for a total of SIOO,OOO to be raised by the business and civic organizations and $600,000 to be appropriated b> the Legislature was launched.

by Secretary of State Frederick E. Schortemeier, following conviction of the trio Tuesday at Bluffton on charges of Intoxication. They were fined $lO each. The three were Assistant Chief William Hamilton and State Policemen George Johnson and Ray Dunlap. State Policeman Ryan Is said to be investigating the affair for Schortemeier. The trio was alleged to have stopped innocent motorists, searched , their cars for liquor and fired shots into the air to frighten them.
