CONSTITUTION THOUGHT URGED Sherwood Issues Statement for Schools. Characterizing the 138th anniversary of she signing of the Constitution as "an occasion for us to rededica’te ourselves to Government under law," Dr. H. N. Sherwood, State superintendent of public in-' struction, today issued a statement urging the observance of the constitutional anniversary in all Indiana schools. Superintendent Sherwood says: "We need to know the Constitution of our country; we need to write it on our hearts. A document that has given us union, brought us order, and assured us liberty is a treasure of unsurpassed value. An appreciation of it will cause us not only to respect it, but also to respect law

MOOSE PLAN INDIANA DAY Football Game to Be Played on Sept. 26. Bh Timm BDf'inl MOOSEHART, 111., Sept. 17.—Indiana day will bo observed here Sept. 26, in conjunction with the first intersectional high school football game of this season, when the Elwood Blue Devils will play Mooseheart. Senator James E. Watson will be one of the principal speakers, with his subject "Indiana.” His purpose will be to sell the State to the ninety-seven Indiana children who are attending the academic and vocational schools here, so that after they have been graduated, they will return to their native heath. Brandon, co-worker of David since 1906. when both became members of the Moose Order, which at that time had only 246 members and was bankrppt financially, is a product of Indiana. He was born in a log cabin at New Harmony. Both Davis and Brandon will speak on Indiana day. The ninety-seven children from Indiana who are attending school here on Sept. 26, form the Indiana Society of Mooseheart. FORMER RESIDENT DIES For more than fifteen years, Frank A. Beck, 43 W. Walnut St., who died Wednesday at Buffalo, Ind., was engaged in the transfer business here. He was associated with the Beck & Speaks undertaking establishment. Elks Lodge No. 13 will conduct funeral services at 2 p. m. Friday at the funeral chapel, 125 S. Capitol Ave. Burial will he in Crown Hill.
