STREET SAID TO BE DAMAGED BY GRAVEL TRUCKS Fixit Gets Complaint on Condition of Kentucky Ave. Should you teeomo discouraged with the task of otiainln? needed city Improvements. ask Mi . Fixit to lend you a hand. He 'a Tlie Times repreesntative at the city hall Write him at The Times. Eccentrio driving with drunken weaving in and out is required to negotiate the far stretches of Kentucky Ave., Mr. Fixit was told today. Although the thoroughfare is paved, leaky gravel truck supplement the paving with a coating of gravjel and sand. DEAR MR. FIXIT: Kentucky Ave. from Harding St. to the Eagle Creek bridge and W. Raymond St. is in a deplorable condition. The avenue is paved and last winter being very hard on asphalt and cement, the pavement became broken and is now full of chuck holes. It is really dangerous driving while raining as one cannot tell what kind of a hole one is driving into. In dry weather one has to zigzag in and out to miss these holes. There are two gravel companies operating on this section of Kentucky Ave. and the gravel and water from the trucks run all over the street, giving it the appearance of a mud alley. CHESTER C. FIELDS, . Traction Terminal Bldg. f As soon as the rainy spell is over and asphalt repairs are pcssible, Kentucky Ave. will receive the attentions of the department of improved strets. Harry Stevens assured Mr. Fixit. DEAR MR. FIXIT: I am writing in regard to the alley back of my house. I wrote to you some time ago. They put some gravel ba- k of the house next door. They didn't fill up all of the holes and they are full of water all of the time. I uish you would see about getting some more gravel or cinders put back of my house. MR. SNYDER. 252 S. Rural St. They'll try to take another whirl at your alley, W. P. Ha*-, gon, clerk of the street commissioner's office, promised Mr. Fixit. Hargon also promised to investigate the condition of Sugar Grove Ave., between Twenty-Sec-ond and Twenty-Third Sts., mentioned by Mrs. C. Newton and Charles Brunson. DEAR MR. FIXIT: I notice in your column of Sept. 15 that it is unlawful to park cars in alleys in the residential district longer than a stated period of time. In the alley between Central Ave. and Ruckle St. and between Thirty-Second and Thirty-Third Sts., cars are parked there all day and when trucks unload goods the alley is blocked for a considerable length of time. ARAT. Police will investigate this situation at once, Mr. Fixit was informed. DEAR MR. FIXIT: How's for getting the weeds cut next to 02115 RECOMMENDS IT TO HIS FRIENDS “Pass it along to everyone if possible,’’ writes Landon Taylor, Dorchester, lowa. “I hope it will help others the same as myself.
