FLEA TO OPEN ELECTION LISTS WILL BE BEARD If Judge Does Not Help Many Will Have to Register. A hearirg will be held Saturday morning before Circuit Judge H. O. Chamber'in on the petition of city election commissioners to be allowed to break the sealed election returns from four precincts in the primary election last May. Commissioners are charged with the duty of certifying complete lists of those who voted in each precinct, so the latter won’t have to register this fall, but Judge Chamberlin will have to help, or the lists for the four precincts can’t be compiled, say the election commissioners. Kept Separate Lists By mistake, precinct election officials in the Forty-First precinct of the Fourth ward kept separate lists of Democratic and Republican voters. Then they sealed up the Democratic poll book in the bag for election returns. In the Third precinct, Sixth ward, the precinct board kept men and women voters names on separate lists, and sealed up the men’s list with the returns. Poll Books Illegible The poll books from the Fifth precinct of the Sixth ward and the Sixth precinct of the Twelfth ward are Illegible, and the commissioners want permiruion to look at the duplicate li ts in the sealed returns.
