PARDON BOARD WILL CONSIDER LOCAL CASES Twelve Pending Appeals Carried Over From Last Meeting. In the list of 1U clemency appeals filed with the State board of pardons for ccv next week are applications in behalf of Dr. A. A. Hill, now serving a three to fourteen year sentence in the State Prison for performing an illegal operation which resulted fatally, and Carlos C. Hammond, former operator of the Jack-O-Lantern gardens, serving a six-month sentnce at the State Farm for maintaining a nuisance. Both are local men. In addition to the new cases, twelve pending appeals were carried over by the board from its last meeting. Eighteen Marion County persons are in the list of petitioners. Fifteen life prisoners' cases will be heard by the board during the session. Twenty-five of the petitioners were sentenced for various infractions of the liquor laws. VOTE OFFICIALS MAY BE NAMED BY DEMOCRATS Republican Faction Members Expected to Join in Alliance. Democratic councilmen, through alliance with two Republican majority faction members of city council, may be able to name 225 precinct inspectors for the coming election, according to reports at the city hall today.
