CONSTRUCTION ON STATE RD.I IS UNDER WAY Edinburg-Franklin Pavement Expected to Be Ready by Fall. Construction has started-on State Ed. 1 from a point four miles north of Edinburg: to Franklin and the contractor expects to have this pavement ready for traffic this fall the i State highway commission’s weekly traffic bnlletin said today- While this section of the road is closed, traffic® will be routed over a splendid county road. Bridge run-arounds have been removed on No 18 in the vicinity of Huntrn-gburg and Rockport and the detour changed on No. 10 In the vicinity of Sullivan, the bulletin pointed out. Contractors are making good headway and road building and maahtenance is progressing satisfactorily, highway officials say. Surface conditions of roads entering Indianapolis are set forth in the ' bulletin as follows.; Hui (New Albany. No. tt (Madison, Greensburg, Indianapolis, Lafayette. Oxford) —Pavement from Indianapolis to Shfilbyvil’.e. Culvert construction on three miles north oa. Napoleoa. Account bridge construction, detour west on Rd. 33 at Lebanon lor three tnilee thenue north and northwest on county road through Thorntown to a point lour milea north of Thorntown; short detour 1 mile farther northwest, and detour marked at eleven miles south of Lafayette, through StockwelL No. 15 (Indianapolis. Indianapolis)—Between Martinsville and Bloomington ana from English to Paoli road will be closed all summer for paving. (Through traffic between Martinsville and Bloomington go via. Spencer over Rds. 12 and 32. /here is a passable detour in dry weather be tween these cities, but it is thirteen miles long, six miles being earth, impassable in wet weather. From paoil is a county rook road to Grantsburs via Marengo and English. Avoid south Oi Grantsburg account construction and no detour road. No 37 (Indianapolis. Anderson. M unde ) —Closed from Munide to Anderson lor paving; detour marked. No. 30 (Indianapolis.. Ruehville, Brookville. Ohio line)—Closed between Julietta and Hawthorne (Marion Connty) for widening and grading. East-bdund traffic j follow marked detour to south of No. .19. West-bound traffic detour over county road, meeting National Rd. near Cumberland, thence .on National Rd. to Indian-a-Dolis. END INSURANCE MEETING Twentieth Anniversary Celebration at Home Office Closes. Wit ha business session Thursday I afternoon, the Councilors’ giub of the Indianapolis Life Insurance Company closed its three-day twentieth anniversary celebration at the home of the company, Thirtieth and Meridian Sts. Speakers were A. H. Taylor, Peoria, 111., president of the club and Elder A. Porter, ‘actuary of the company. Ilaroli J. Plaok, also of Peoria, received a trophy for having obtained the greatest amount of business last year and H. H. Huston of Logansport received a set of traveling bags to observe his twentieth anniversary with the company. An entertainment program was held at the Woodstock Country Club.
