G.O.P. COUNCIL WILL BANQUET (toted Speakers on Program for Friday Night. Heavy Republican oratorical artillery will swing into action at the Founder’s day banquet of Indiana Council of the Indiana Republican Constructive League at the Columbia Club, Friday night. Among the speakers will be United States Senators George H. Moses of New Hampshire and James E. Watson. Albert J. Beveridge, former United States Senator; George L. Lockwood, publisher of the National Republican official Republican party organ, and Edwaid Warfel, Indianapolis, newly appointed membership secretary of the league, also are on the speakers' list. Lieut. Governor F. Harold Van Orman will be toastmasteq. About 900 reservations for the banquet have been made, Warfel said. GIRL STABBED, YOUTH ACCUSED Struggle Over Apple Blamed for Injury. Condition of Mary Flom, 16, said cut in the abdomen Wednesday, during a struggle with Kenneth Farquahr, 11, R. R. 5, Box 308, was retirted as fair at St. Francis Hospital day. The Farquahr boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Farquahr, was arrested on a delinquency charge by Deputy Sheriff Roland Snider. The struggle occurred in the orchard at the Flom home, near Sherman Drive and Raymond St., it was said. Officers were told that Kenneth, with Osborn Skillman and Norman Pflum'm, was returning from a swim in Lick Creek when the lad started to get an apple from a ditch on the Flom orchard. Skillman and Pflumm said the girl ordered Kenneth from the orchard and choked him and that he struck her with something they believed was a knife. A knife belonging to the boy was found. Z'nlteA Preti BRINDISI, Italy, Aug. 20. Fascisti have seized this municipality as a counter action to the slaying of one of their comrades. They have forced Mayor Andriani to resign. OPERA SERIES BEGINS The first of a series of radio programs under the direction of Gaetano Merola, directior general of the San Francisco Opera Association, was braodcast July 11 from station KGO. The series will continue. Only su£h parts of opera reportoire as are suited to radio will be broadcast.
