RITES PLANNED FOR PUBLISHER Victor F. Lawson Dead at Age of 75 Years. Bv United Press CHICAGO, Aug. 20. —Relatives made plans for a simple funeral for Victor F. Lawson today as the world of journalism mourned the passing of one of its best known personalities. Death came to Lawson last night in the drab stone castle on Lake Shore Drive, which he had kept open since the death of his wife in 1915. The owner of the Chicago DailyNews and director of the Associated Press died at the age of 75, just as he was preparing to take a three weeks' vacation. Physicians said too much work over-burned his aged heart. He died quietly after being in bed a little more twentyfour hours. Dawson was born in Chicago, Sept. 9, 1850, and virtually grew up in the publishing business in Chicago. AUTO OWNERS PICNIC Approximately 25,000 Persons Attend Chevrolet Outing.
