FEDERALGRAND JURY MAY GET ROAD EVIDENCE (Report on State Highway Commission Affairs Held by Ward. Evidence obtained through the Federal investigation of alleged irregularities in the sale by the State highway commission of surplus war materials may be presented to the Federal grand jury in October, it wag indicated today. The grand jury was only excused from its last session in June, subject to being recalled. United States District Attorney Albert Ward said the grand jury might be recalled for the disposition of minor cases. It is thought the highway commission’s case may be put before the jury at that time, provided the evidence warrants such action. Ward was non-committal as tJ what he thought the investigation would show. He said Thursday that the affairs were under Government scrutiny. A report by field examiners for the State board of accounts has been turned over to Ward and he has communicated with the Department of Agriculture at Washington. It is understood he was instructed to proce-ed as he thought best. The report is alleged to, show that between $8,000,000 and $10,000,000 in surplus arm materials had been sold by the highway commission for about $500,000. ■On the basis of the report, John k Williams, director of (he comission, Earl Crawford, commission

“The Grass Is Always Greener in the Other Fellow’s Yard” This is part of the chorus in an old song and it describes exactly th mental attitude of lots of people. These folks always imagine that “the v grass is greener in the other fellow’s yard.” They waste much precious time longing and gazing across the fence when a little attention and a little of the same kind of water their neighbor uses would make their own . grass lush and green. This is just another way of saying that many people waste their best years in dreaming of the opportunities that would be theirs if they could only go somewhere else. They don’t realize that “the grass of opportunity” grows as well in one place as in another and that all it needs is the waters of ambition and determination. Don’t gaze with longing at your neighbor’s yard, get one of your own rtnd then you will have neither the time nor inclination to worry about the other fellow’s grass. Own your own home and then you’ll find that “The Grass Is Always Greener T n YOUR OWN BACK YARD.” Each day local Real Estate Men are listing attractive and easily acquired homes in the TIMES WANT ADS.
