The traffic department informed Mr. Fixit that the only ordinance governing parking outside the business district and a few other selected locations stipulates that a car may not be parked longer than ten hours in one location. , Hence there is no relief for the following complaint: DEAR MR. FIXIT: The young man Who lives near my home has a large car which he parks in front of' rtfi residence. He has been told to park it in front ol his own house, but as he does not heed this we are asking your aid in this matter. When he repairs his car he has his tools spread all over the sidewalk and grass. PROPERTY OWNER. DEAR MR. FIXIT: We paid an assessment to build the Pleasant Run Parkway from Shelby to Prospect Sts. on bottf sides of the creek. All we have received for our money is a strip of weeds from two to eight feet high. The horse weeds on the eouth side of the creek on the west side of Keystone Ave are overlapping the sidewalk so badly that the walk cannot be used. When the weeds are wet pedestrians have to walk out in the middle of the street. Also tell us why the park board has advertised for bids for improvement on the north side of the creek only, as we on the south side paid out money at the same time the property owners on ;the north Bid' paid theirs. Walter Jarvis, park' super intendent, promised Mr. Fixit h would order a force of men t< tackle the weed problem at once Construction of the south parkway has been delayed until the Pleasant Run-Bean Creek interceptor sewer has been completed. It would be folly to cut up a newly constructed boulevard for a sewer, according to Jarvis. DEAR MR. FIXIT: I live on the east side of N. Harding St. at 3145. There is a sidewalk on the west side from Thirtieth to Thirty-Second St. I have tried hard to get one put in on my side the same distance and had a petition signed by most of the property owners that would be affected, but still I have to live in that mudhole. I tried also to get street lights at Harding and Congress and Thirtysecond and to have cinders put in my alley, which at times is impassable. PAUL R. KELLEY. Although the beard of works approved plans for the sidewalk in January, Frank C. Lingenfelter, city engineer, has not drawn them. He said he is delaying submission of all plans until he receives word that city council, now in rebellion against the Shank administration, will authorize a transfer ordinance to pay salariers of inspectors required by law.
