FIXIT: I want to thank you, also Mr. Hargon, clerlt of the city street commissioner’s office for the prompt attention given the manhole lid in front of 866 N. Dearborn St. It just seems like a different neighborhood. Many thanks. F. A. F. DEAR MR. FIXIT: I have read your column In The Times for a long while, and seeing the good you have been doing for others, I will try my luck. On Goodlet Ave., between W. Tenth and St. Clair Sts., there are no street lights and it is darker than pitch. There are lights on every other street except on the above-mentioned street. I and the neighborhood would like to see some lights put on these streets as soon as they could possibly be attained. Yours in darkness, C. F. HECKMAN. 817 Goodlet Ave. To obtain an electric light, you must circulate a petition among neighobrs in your community and file it at the office of the board of works, on the first floor of the city hall building. Only a few names are necessary. DEAR MR. FIXIT: Could you do anything about the traffic problem at Sixteenth &t. and Senate Ave.? There is an accident every day and sometimes two or three. They all speed at this corner, making it very dangerous. A READER. The traffic department has promised Mr. Fixit to direct special attention to speeders near this corner. Motorpoliceir.en will be on the alert. DEAR MR. FIXIT: Will you please see If you can get a garbage and trash collection out our way. I have called twice at the collection department but was told the collection was made only as far as 2000 Keystone Ave. and west of there. That Is almost two blocks farther out than we are but there is ro collection here. We have to dump our garbage In

the adjoining vacant lots and commons and the flies are terrible around here. There are several families living in the addition and I think it is dreadful to pay taxes the same as downtown for these services and then not get them. A READER. Please send Mr. Fixit another note designating specific street numbers, so that he may take it up with the proper authorities. DEAR MR. FIXIT: Have you ever driven out Central Ave. and tried to cross Thirtieth Si? If you haven't, do. You will then know how badly a stop and go is needed there. To me it is one of the most dangerous crossings in town. See what you can do. Thanking you in advance. I am. A MOTORIST. Mr. Fixit agrees that the corner is dangerous.
