HIGHER LEVIES SOUGHT Park Board to Ask Increase—Coliseum Contract Awarded. An 8-cent levy for parks and 2 cents fey the recreation department will be asked by the >ark board for 1926, it was decided Ihursday. The park levy is raised 1 cent and the recreation levy one-half of 1 cent. The Krebay Construction Company was awarded the contract for the Anna Seeger memorial coliseum in Rhodius park on a $35,681 bidinstallation of an automatic traffic signal at the west end of the Emrichsville bridge was authorized. PLAYGROUND DELAYED Park Board Holds Up Golden Hill Equipment. Installation of playground equip ment at Golden Hill park, adjacent to the home of Mayor Shank, is being delayed at the request of park board members, it became known today. ■ When Mayor Shank proposed the acquisition of the land for Golden Hill park, he said it would cost the city nothing because it would be leased to the Woodstock Club to complete its golf links. However, he has decided to esablish a municipal playground and to permit the routing of Clifton St. through the ground since that time. ' WOULD SPEED UP ROAD Peru Seeks Support, in Rushing Pavement of Highway. Bu United Frees PERU, Ind., July 24.—The Peru Chamber of Commerce today caught the support of cities and towns between Peru and South Bend on State Rd. 1 in an attempt to secure completion of the work of paving the highway, Representatives from the towns interested were asked to attend a , conference here Aug. 5 to bring the request before the State highway commission. INVITE BUTTER MAKERS Many Manufacturers Will be Asked to Attend Daily Exposition. More than 4,000 butter manufacturers will be invited to attend the 1925 National Dairy Exposition, which come here Oct. 10 to 17, it was announced today. Arrangements will be made for establishing a headqaurters for butter manufacturers and their families during the Exposition. “Creamery Day” will be held Oct. 14. DRY LEADER IS DEAD Jonathan Johnson to Be Buried at New London. Bu Times Special NOBDESVILLE, Ind., July 24. Funeral of Jonathan Johnson, 87, will be held in the Friends church at 10 o’clock in Carmel Saturday morning, with burial at New London. Forty years ago he was an active leader in the Prohibition party of Indiana. TWO BOYS RUN AWAY Police Asked to Aid in Search—One From Out of City. Police were asked to search for two runaway youths today. Easil Walsh, 13, of 953 N. Keystore Ave., has gray eyes, light hair, and was dressed in blue overalls, blue shirt and light cap. Dale Gray, 14, of Mt. Comfort, Ind., has blue eyes, light brown hair, was wearing blue overalls, blu< shirt and a dark cap.

BOY RUN OVER BY AUTO Said to Have Been Knocked From Box—Leg Is Broken. William Edward Morris Jr., 8, of 74 Schiller St., suffered a broken leg Thursday night when the wheels of an auto driven by Ora Day, 41 Schiller St., passed over him.
