HORSES STILL CAN GET DRINK AT FOUNTAINS Mr. Fixit Gets Complaints on Quiet Zone, Smoke and Lights. If Mr. Fixit\ can assist you to obtain needed City improvements, write him at The Times. His business Is to aid Times’ readers in their dealings with city officials. A plea for Old Dobbin has reahced Mr. Fixit. In answering it Mr. Fixit learned that the increase in number of automobiles has caused the horse to lose many of his prerogatives. DEAR MR. FIXIT: Will you please see why the city has shut off the water in the public drinkipg fountains for horses? A huckster told my mother yesterday that there was no place where his hor&o get a drink. This seems a poor soot of economy to me. TORN HARRISON, 932 N. Illinois St. There’s a silver lining to this cloud. Mr. Fixit’s investigation reveals that only one-half of the drinking fountains for horses have been suspended. In almost every part of the city fountains are available, deispite the decrease in the number of horses. DEAR MR. FIXIT: Why is it that the traffic Ms not compelled to obey the “quiet zone" near the Indiana Christian Hospital at Senate Ave. and Ohio' ! St.? Trucks begin passing at 6 a. m. and they rush past here sounding their horns all day long. The manhole caps in the street are loose and they adfcl to the confusion. Hoping these noises can be eliminated. NERVOUS PATIENT. Mr, Fixit talked thkr over 'rich the boiard of safety to.ay and they assigned Police Chief Rikhoff to investigate. W. P. Hargon, clerk of the street commissioner’s office will have the loose lids repaired before you read this article. Hargon has aided Mr. Fixit in many tough problems and today he submitted one of his own. < - DEAR MR.
