Bright Embroidery Trims Frock
The lines to this gown of white georgette crepe are simple enough, but the wide band of wool embroidery in bright colors and the fringed hemline make it very striking and unusual. A- scarf of black illusion makes the Oriental looking turban, one end of which is wound about the throat and falls over the shoulder.

The Tangle LETTER FROM LESLIE PRESCOTT TO THE LITTLE MAR-QUISE-CONTINUED I dressed leisurely but was nearly finished when Jack came In. I heard him talking In the hall. I wondered if he had forgotten his dinner engagement. “Leslie,’ he presently called, "here is old Syd. He in going out with us to the Travelers’ Club tonight.” I noticed that he did not mention Melville Sartorls and I wondered if Syd knew we were to be the guests of Mr. Sartorls. They came upstairs, together and I called a gay greeting as Syd passed my door. After I had dressed I went in to see the children. The baby was asleep. His golden hair lay In clustering curls about his face. He had kicked off the clothes and his little body was almost bare. I stooped down with an ecstatic cry and covered him with kisses. There was a little wistful sigh from the other bed. I turned to find Jack sitting up staring at me. “It is my yovely muvver.” hq said as though he were explaining something to himself. “Why, Jackie, what do you mean?” I asked. "I waked up and I fought it was a ’ittle snow angel.” "No, darling. It is your wicked old mother." I answered, taking him up in my arms at the peril of my perishable finery. ”1 ought not to leave you at all, honey, and ' I don’t want to be a snow angel to you. I just want to be your own ownest mother.” The little soft arms about my bare throat and the moist lips on mine made me want to cry. "I yuv you, muvver,’ he whispered sleepily. I hugged him tighter and that darling boy entwined his arms closer about my throat. Agai*i I thanked my God for my eldest son. Again I searched my brain to see if I could find the slightest difference between the love I had for him and the love I had for that other human mite lying in the other bed. I could not. They were both my boys, my sons, over whom I was continually dreaming dreams. For whom I was continually hoping and planning great things. I forgot all about the dinner as I held Jack in my arms. "Sing me ’itty Boy Blue.” Jackie murmured as he cuddled down in my arms. “All right, Sonny,” but for a moment my throat was so full I could not speak, I could not sing. The arms grew tighter about my neck, and with a little sigh my boy turned as if to go to sleep. (Copyright, 1925, NBA Service, Inc.) TOMORROW —Letter from Leslie Prescott to the Little Marquise.

—Martha Lee Says OLD FA ULTS CAN BE CURED BY WILL POWER
A girl wants to know how she can overcome a “despisable disposition.” Because of it, she cannot keep friends. She even lost the one man she ever cared for, but still is not cured.
There is no magic cure for meanness. As in the case of jealousy, self-consciousness and kindred faults, the cure must start with the "victim.’’ Only through will power, bolstered by a realization of what he is missing, can it be effected. However, family and friends can assist. One thing that must be fought is reputation. If a person is known as “mean,” he finds it haid to be other than mean. His kindnesses are discounted or, worse still, laughed at. His honeyed words cause astonishment, and then caution, as the listener puts himself on guard for some ulterior motive. That is what makes "reform,” wether of actions or character, doubly hard. Neverthless, it can be accomplished. Mean, She Is Dear Mies Lee: I am one of those girl* who cannot somehow keep a felloa '-T* long. ANXIOUS RED-HEAD: The fact that this man Is a sailor is not enough to condemn him. There are untrustworthy and flirtatious sailors. There also are untrustworthy and flirtatious bankers, and clerks, and carpenters, and lawyers. You and he have known each other long enough to be pretty sure of your feelings. However, you stilt are quite young and may not want to be engaged tor a year and a half. It Is a long time, when you are not seeing each other at all.
