GOOD FISHING PLACES NEAR WORTHINGTON White and Eel Rivers Have Many Unfrequented Spots. Going flakin'? Then, naturally, you want to go where the fish are; in other words, where there are more fish than fishermen. Such a place is a bit hard to find in recent years. The advent of the low priced automobile has caused a tremendous influx of people to the • banks of practically every stream •which might be fish bearing. Thus Is becomes continually harder to find a fishing place not overrun with picnickers and would-be fishermen. Few Places l^efft But happily there are a few places left where one can fish in peace and contentment; whore, if know a' bit of the science of angling a string of sizable fish can be taken in a few hours time. Both White Itiver and Mol River, at Worthington, offer such possibilities. Within easy reach of the town are numerous places, unmolested by hordes of autoists, where game fish abound. If the channel cats are not striking, black bass, crap pies and blue gills may be; all varieties are there. Good Rendezvous Hodden’s Tavern, on State Rd. 12, in Worthington, offers an ideal rendezvous for fishing parties. Its clean, homey appearance is appealing and the meals served are the talk of the traveling public throughout this section of the State. The accommodations are good; the rates are low. Quiet, congeial surroundings appeal to those seeking a truly rustic vacation. Numerous beautiful motor drives from Worthington add to its desirability as a vacation place.

The thrifty little town Is well advertised for miles out on all roads by huge arrows that point to Gosport. The town has Its place in the history of the State. There Is the famous “Ten O’Clock IJne” which marks the survey made by Indiana when their land was relinquished to the” white settlers. There is some detailed drama connected with this story which J. M. Cooper will gladly relate when you stop for a chocolate soda. PARADISE FOR ANGLERS Itock lliver One of Best Fishing Streams in NtaUv Rock River, which passes through the Shades State Park in Montgomery County, is known as one of the best fishing streams In Indiana. Immense clilTs at intervals form one or both banks of this stream. Some of these cliffs are over 200 feet high. These peculiar rock formations, together with the dense woodlands, give an impression of primeval wilderness which contrasts very sharply with the modern developments on l farms, towns and cities. MORE HIGHWAYS Surfacing of highways In the j United States is advancing at the -ate of about 40,000 miles a year.
