SINCLAIR LEWIS DENIES CALLING AMERICANS PIGS Author, Home From Abroad, Says Interview Was Fake. i Bu Times Special NEW YORK, June s.—Sinclair Lewis, after a winter in Europe, has returned to America to tell his countrymen that the report that he said they were "pigs" was greatly exaggerated. Although the author who found "Main Street” drab and its boosters "babbits,” complained that Americans look upon a man who wears a dress suit as a congenital scoundrel, he denied Americans were "pigs” or that he had ever said ihey were.
