Representatives of twelve states affiliated in the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Deep Waterway Association were in attendance today at the fourth annual gathering- of the association. The convention opened Wednesday night with a meeting of the executive committ.ee and a dinner at the Spaulding hotel. H. C. Purpose of the association is to secure completion of the project to; open up a route for ocean-going vessels through the St. Lawrence Fiver and the Great Lakes to the lake ports of the Middle West. Such a route would throw the markets of this section of the country open- to direct export business with the markets of the world and save producers hundreds of thousands of dollars through lower freight rates, it is said. JUSTICES TO BE GUESTS Law Commencement Dinner at Indiana University. Bn Times Special BLOOMINGTON. Ind., May 21. Justices of the Indiana State Supreme Court will be honor guests here tonight at ihe law commencement dinner of the 1925 law class of Indiana University. The dinner is the second event of the pre-com-mencement activities of the 1925 class. The reception of President and Mrs. Bryan to the senior this week was the first of the commencement series. Dean Charles M. Hepburn, of the Indiana University law school, will preside and Judge Louis B. Ewbank will be the principal speaker, with an address on "A Visit to Our Ancestral Home.” Chief Justice Travis will respond to a toast on "The Supreme Court of Indiana.” The installation of the Order of the Coif, national honorary law scholastic will be a feature.
