Lemon Juice Whitens Skin
The only harmless way to bleach the skin white is to mix the juice of two lemons with three ounces of Orchard White, which any druggist will supply for a few cents. Shake well in a bottle, and you have a whole quar-
ter-plnt of the most wonderful skin whitener, softener and beautlfier. Massage this sweetly fragrant lemon bleach Into the face, neck, arms and hands. It can not Irritate. Famous stage beauties use it to bring that clear, youthful skin and rosy-white complexion; also as a freckle, sunburn and tan bleach. You must mix this remarkable lotion yourself. It can not be bought ready to use because it acts best immediately after it is prepared.— Advertisement.

I stopped suddenly on the floor and felt myself almost fainting in Melville Sartoris’ arms. I seemed to have awakened from a dream to find a strange man holding me upright on my weak anad trembling legs. There was a great clapping of

hands and a loud sound of admiring voices. “Leslie, that was the loveliest exhibition of the tango that 1 have ever seen,” Walter Burke said as he and Ruth rushed up to mo. “I did not think it could be done so well outside of South America,” was Sydney Carton’s comment. I ooked around a bit dizzily. My eyes unconsciously were seeking Jack. He was nowhere to be found. Instead, to my surprise, I heard a voice which I recognized, evidently speaking to someone who was crowding near. “I am sorry to see Leslie making such an exhibition of herself. It was quite like a professional dancer.” 1 turned toward the voice, and looking straight into the eyes of my mother-in-law, I exclaimed, “Why, Mother Prescott, how did you get here? Surely I read aright the telegram In which you said you could not accept my invitation." “Yes, I did wire you I could not come, but I changed my mind. I am almost sorry that I did. I arrived Just in time to see you dancing as if you were a paid entertainer in a hotel ballroom." “Nice woman,” murmured Mr. Sartoris in my ear as be led me over nearer to my mother-in-iaw. He was, however, diplomatic enough to acknowledge his presentation to her very politely, but I noticed he did not fall to say; “As Mrs. Prescott’s partner, I want to remark that I have never known one paid entertainer that has danred with the grace and poetry which your daughter gave so generously to the entertainment of her friends Just now." “But I wasn’t trying to entertain my guests," I protested. “I Just was dancing the tango with a perfect partner." As I thanked him for the dance I said, “I must now find my husband.” “Yes, where is John?” spoke up his mother. “I am more surprised than ever to find that you are dancing this tango, as you call it, without the presence and approval of your husband.” At that moment, much to my relief, little Marquise, Jack made his appearance. I ran straight to him. Don’t be angry,” I said. “What should I be angry 'for, Leslie? Because I am married to the best dancer in the room? Come on, let's fox trot.” We started off. I thought the episode was over. LESLIE. (Copyright, 1925 NEA Service, Inc.) TOMORROW-—Letter from Sally Atherton to Beatrice, Summers.

Martha Lee Says THANK YOU ' GOES LONG WAY IN MARRIED LIFE
The tragedy of many wives is the lack of appreciation for their efforts shown by their husbands. There is not much satisfaction for a woman in knowing her husband loves here if he
never shows it. One woman writes; “When we worked in offices, our boss would often give us a word of encouragement, and we were paid well besides. Now we are supposed to work all day for a mere trifle and not even get a thank you.” It is true some husbands treat their wives as they would not dare treat their employes. They give the wives comfortable homes, pretty clothes and cars, but they hold back that which they want most—little compliments, words of appreciation for their work in the home. Undoubtedly the man who provides well for his wife's comfort loves her more, even if he does not say so, than the man who protests his love day after day, but fails to give his wife even the necessities of life. But it is for the latter type of man. not the former, that a woman will struggle with love in her heart. Wanted: A Thank You Dear Miss Lee: When I married five years ago. my husband was so kind. But as his endearing terms have grown fewer and finally ceased. I find my love growing colder. What am 1 to do? I am 30 years old. They say they love us. but for some unknown reason do not deem it necessary to show us, as they did before marriage. A woman wants more than a machine, nice clothes, food and a cosy home. It Is the little kind words and compliments that keep a woman happy, • I spend hours in my kitchen to get a nice meal, and then not to hear one word of credit is pretty hard to bear. When we worked in offices, our boss would often give us a word of encourgavement.. and we were paid well besides. Now we are supposed to work all day for a mere trifle and not even get a thank you. I have gathered from your advice heretofore that one must continue the courting and honeymoon days; that is. be careful not to hurt the other's feelings and be agreeable and attractive. But what man will cooperate in that? They probably think that would be like feeding a flßh after you had caught it. But it is the only solution to happy marriage. Don’t you agree ? We have a child a, year old. and I envy

WEDNESDAY, iviAi io ,
about the little things that make their wives happy. They ready do love them, in many instances, but they consider It “silly” to tell them so. The solution varies. Some times it lies in letting the husband feel he can not be too sure his wife always will endure his coldness, nor that there is not someone who does appreciate her. Again, the problem may be solved by a "strike.” If you should refuse to work under such conditions, as an employe might, It is possible your husband would appreciate the situation. Or you might effect a change by serving “canned” or delicatessen meals, with an explanation that, as your husband gives no evidence that he cares for your cooking, you think it is foolish to waste so much time in the kitchen.
