Aver aeirprice of twenty Industrial stocks, 124.74, off .42. Average price of twenty rails, 87.36, off .32. Bu United Press NEW YORK, May 9,—The short session today developed Into a fairly active one but with decided mixed price movements. Rails did little as a class while tno motors and rubber shares were In active demand. The public utility group was much less active and many of the recent leaders gave ground from their high prices, although Brooklyn Union Gas went to .anew high price. Borne other new highs were registered through the list such as Mack Truck, United States Realty and United States Rubber. Stocks usually regarded as market leaders were rather dull. Steel common In this category was without actlvityl or price movement. The street was not awaiting the report of unfilled tonnage report as of April 30, with as much Interest as usual, because of Judge Gary’s recent speech in which he forecast that the report would show a decrease in the orders on hand, due to high rates of shipments during April. The market closed irregular. Local Bank Clearings Bank clearings Saturday amounted to *3,202.000. For the week, $17,720,000. Bank debit* Saturday were $5,654,000. For tho week, $35,404,000.
