MAYOR PROBES DUVALLCHARGE But Will Make His Report After Tuesday. Mayor Shank is "investigating” charges made by John Ij. Duvall, Republican candidate for mayor, that city trucks are being used to haul chairs and other paraphernalia to meetings in support of the candidacy of Ralph A. Lemcke, generally considered as Duvall’s strongest rival for the nomination. “Tell him I’ll investigate, if he asks It,” said Mayor Shank today. "But I'll make my report some time after Tuesday.” Primary election will be held Tuesday. Harry Newby, municipal garage supterintendent, said he had refused to allow city automobiles under his supervision to be used for campaign purposes, but said trucks belonging to the street cleaning and recreation departments were carrying supplies to places where Lemcke meetings are scheduled.
