‘Girl on Lap’ Is Part of Ride West Indianapolis Jitney Place to Get Well Acquainted

The "Old Mill" at Riverside Park lias nothing on a West Indianapolis jitney bus (luring the rush hour. Cheaper, too. Pay seven cents and have a pretty girl ride on your lap for about three miles. The law of the sea "Women and children first" doesn't hold true in a Jitney bus. Men and sheiks get in first and the girls follow to recline on their laps. The bus line runs to West Indian npolls from Illinois St. and Kentucky Ave. Riding on the outside Is pro hibited. Drivers of the cars knows nearly all the passengers by their first names especially the flappers, and also seem to know where everyone lives. Conversation ranges from the Einstein theory, or the latest victim of the hijackers, to something like this: “Oh, Kid. you should have seen, the swell fellow I was out with the other night! Oee but he was cute! Kittle mustache 'n everything!" "Say Agnes, that guy couldn’t hold a candle to the sheik that I stepped out with Tuesday night. This guy lives on the north side, got a car, I forgit now what kind. Got a date with him Sunday night. Said he had a boy friend, getcha a date if you want." "Can’t, my steady’s coming Sunday night, say you fix it up some night next week and I’ll go." Just then someone "hollers" next and the passengers get better acquainted as the driver throws on the brakes. 666 Is a prescription for Colds, Grippe, Flu, Dengue, Bilious Fever and Malaria It kills the germs.
